Do I need any experience?
Not at all! We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds. Whether you're a student, professional, retiree, or stay-at-home parent, we have a role for you. All volunteers receive free training before being deployed.
How much time do I need to commit?
As little as 2 hours a week, or as much as you want. Phone bankers typically do 2–6 hours weekly, canvassers 4–8 hours weekly, event coordinators are most active on weekends. You set your own availability.
Will I be paid?
Volunteering is unpaid, but we provide stipends for active field volunteers to cover transport, airtime, and meals — typically KSh 500–1,500 per active day. Drivers receive fuel reimbursement. Volunteering shouldn't cost you money.
What happens after I sign up?
Within 24 hours, your ward coordinator will contact you via WhatsApp and SMS. You'll be invited to a brief orientation, given access to our volunteer portal, and matched to your first activity. Most volunteers are active within 3 days.
How is my data protected?
We comply fully with the Kenya Data Protection Act (2019). Your data is encrypted, never sold or shared, and used only for campaign coordination. You can request deletion at any time at privacy@kenyadecides.ke.
Can I volunteer from outside Laikipia East?
Yes! Anyone over 18 can volunteer, regardless of which constituency they're registered in. Many diaspora volunteers handle social media and phone banking from Nairobi, Mombasa, and even abroad.
